CLARK HAS BEEN ADOPTED

I'm sorry for the late notification - Clark was adopted out to a lovely family about one month ago.  It seems as though everything is going well.  Clark now has a doggie girlfriend, that seems to be very similar to him - mostly Belgian Malinois with a pinch of something else -German Shepherd, perhaps?  Clark also has 2 human parents - a mom and a dad, and a little girl, approximately 9 yrs of age to play with.  He lives in a lovely home with a great backyard.  These people truly seem to understand Clark, and appreciate him for who he is - a smart, big, goofy dog that wants everyone to love him!

Congratulations Clark!!! This adoption has been a long time coming!!!

Clark is a Belgian Shepherd Malinois

I spoke with a representative from Belgian Shepherd Malinois Rescue in the mid-west.  She has viewed Clark's pictures and believes him to be a purebred BSM - NOT a German Shepherd Dog Mix.  I have sent additional pictures to her for viewing and will be sending more - if she still believes him to be a purebred dog, she will send a representative to come evaluate him in person!!!

If he truly is a purebred dog - he can be listed on his breed's rescue site, and hopefully find a appropriate home that will understand and love him for the wonderful dog he is!!!

By the way... Clark is doing great - walking nicely on a leash, eager to please, plays extremely well with the other dogs in the household... he is a sweet, loving guy.... he just wants to make friends and give out kisses...

Meet and Greet went well today!!

Four Muddy Paws in Lafayette Square graciously hosted a meet and greet for Serendipity German Shepherd Dog Rescue today!! 

The meet and greet went well.  Our foster dog, Clark, made lots of new friends.  He was friendly with everyone, adults and children alike!  He was also a good boy with the other dogs... most of the time... :)  He never showed aggression with the dogs, but he was definitely looking for a buddy to play with. :)

We met some really nice potential adopters, who knows, maybe Clark with have his forever home by May?  I'll keep everyone posted.

By the way, I really liked being outside on the patio, it was a great place to be able to mingle for everyone.  Four Muddy Paws has a special thing they do Saturday mornings - come in and have java with your pup out on the patio - and a slice of coffee cake.. yummy!  It's just one more nice thing this store does for its' patrons.  The staff was really great, and I appreciate all that they do.

Clark & Jack are buddies

Ever since last Wednesday, the boys are becoming increasingly close.  We crated Clark while we were eating dinner this evening, and Jack crated himself next to Clark. Jack's crate door was wide open, but he laid facing his friend, keeping him company. I have seen the boys do this for each other over the past few days.  It's so comforting to see how deeply they care for one another.

It truly warms my heart to see that Jack has a friend in Clark.  The boys romp and play all night long, biting playfully, chasing each other, and talking the entire time, making indistinguishable sounds! 

Windy is our princess, and she doesn't care for all the rough housing! After a few minutes of being subjected to the boys and their rough play, she gives us that pleading look, to lock her up safely in her crate, until the boys are herded outside.

They boys are sound asleep after having dinner this evening.  We are so glad the two of them are so happy. :)  Windy will be rewarded for her patience, by sleeping with us in our room tonight.

The boys had some time in the yard tonight!! They played and Jack asserted himself, by chasing Clark, but not too hard.  Jack would chase and then let Clark go.  They chased each other for a time too.  Then I introduced Windy, our female to the mix (inside the house).  Jack was possessive of her, but not forceful, so I gave them a chance outside, they were not overly friendly, but things were OK, these are good steps forward.

Clark may do well in a home with either a male or female dog - or both!  Clark really is a good dog. He's just a big puppy that wants to play, be fed, and receive lots of love.  He'll make some family very happy!

I am so proud of both the boys today!  Keep up the good work - Jack & Clark
